Chronic Post-Concussion Syndrome

  • A “concussion” is considered a mild traumatic brain injury and can be caused by a hit to the head or body

  • A “chronic concussion” refers to when symptoms (i.e., headaches, dizziness, brain fog) persist for more than four weeks, often beyond three months

  • With chronic concussions, symptoms persist due to a combination of factors; neck strain, vestibular dysfunction, sleep disruption, psychological stress, or returning to strenuous work and sport too early, too often

  • At our clinic, a chiropractor can perform a neurological examination to monitor the progression of an acute concussion into a chronic concussion

  • A customized recovery plan will be developed to address all of the possible factors leading to these persistent concussion symptoms
