Herniated Disc

  • A spinal disc is located between vertebrae and has a squishy center similar to a jelly donut.

  • Over time the disc can deteriorate, causing the squishy centre to slip out of the outer layer.

  • When the centre slips out of the outer layer, this is known as a herniated disc and can compress the spinal cord.

  • Common symptoms of a herniated disc are pain in the leg, tingling, numbness, and weakness.
