Shoulder Dislocation

A shoulder dislocation happens when the humerus bone slips out of the shoulder socket. There can be an anterior or posterior shoulder dislocation. An anterior dislocation is when the shoulder dislocates forwards. A posterior dislocation is when the shoulder dislocates backwards.

Some common symptoms of a shoulder dislocation are:

  • swelling

  • shoulder and arm pain

In some cases surgery may be required for a shoulder dislocation.
